We have had the pleasure of working with bespoke blind and curtain craftsmen Tidmarsh Blinds over the past few years, to redesign and develop their company website, update their blog and social media, and run their PPC campaigns. This was an exciting challenge for us, as we hadn’t previously worked with such a historic and long-established company, and it was very important to us to incorporate this into the new website, while also maintaining the clean and modern style that we are known for. Website design for SEO results is something that we are very passionate about, and it’s been wonderful to see such great results with Tidmarsh.
The previous Tidmarsh website wasn’t working for them as a business; it didn’t convey the incredible quality that they bestow in their products, as well as the many decades and generations of knowledge and experience that have gone into their craft. We initially redesigned the entire site from scratch, taking it back to what the company is about – the blinds, their history, and their future. One of the major flaws of the previous site was a confusing navigation – we know that an accessible site structure and an easy to navigate website is crucial to both great user experience and great search result rankings, so this was something we wanted to address immediately. We stripped the site down to provide an entry way for the different types of customer and clients that visit the site, and took the design back to the recognisable company branding; making the site brighter, more user friendly and all round more useable – a key measure in website design for SEO.
We designed infographics to illustrate their incredible company history, their crafting process, and photographed each member of the Tidmarsh team for their “Meet the Team” page to add a personal feel to the site. We developed everything to be fully responsive; we know that up to one third of their visitors are viewing the site on mobile, so it’s essential their experience is just as good as a desktop user. One of the major targets we had for the new site was to speed up page loading times across all platforms, and we concentrated on optimising images and scripts across each page to achieve this successfully.
The site now has a refreshed and simplified look, complete with enhanced content fully optimised for every media device, desktop through mobile. This allows customers to view product details, company information, request a quote and contact Tidmarsh through the site. The CMS allows the client to observe visitor and customer analytics, so they can feed this information back into offering the service that their customers are looking for. We fully designed and developed the site using WordPress, concentrating on accessibility and responsive design to give an inclusive and interactive user experience.
The SEO results from our new design, development and content writing have been very successful. We’ve continually refined and adjusted the website in response to the analytics and results that we’ve been receiving, to ensure everything is as successful and effective as possible. We’re so happy that we’ve developed a strong relationship with Tidmarsh, and are thoroughly enjoying our weekly content writing, social media management and web maintenance for them.
